Our mission is to empower the poor to participate in and benefit from the Indian growth process through integrated action in the fields of primary health, elementary education, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihood. This will be achieved through active collaboration with the government and independent organisations. From very beginning, we, at PSVK , believe that development has to be holistic, to bring real fruits to the most needy. Public Health, Education, Livelihood, Women Empowerment, Community Development and Social Welfare continue to be prime areas of our work. We wish to bring a substantial change on the ground by focusing our energies in these sectors as well as building our understanding about related issues. We, at PSVK , firmly believe that a conducive and productive environment cannot be achieved unless all parameters of the development equation are adequately addressed. Spatially, PSVK has support centres in Patna, Gaya, Sitamardhi in Bihar
PSVK ’ was registered in Patna, Bihar under the Societies Registration Act on July 24, 2004, by a group of professionals who shared a common dream and had come together to work on a people-centric model of development in areas like public health, education, gender, livelihood, community development and social welfare. Inspired by Gandhi an ideals of social change, what guides the group is the Gandhi an talisman –“Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man (woman) whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be any use to him (her). Will he (she) gain anything by it? Will it restore him (her) to a control over his (her) own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to Swaraj (freedom) for the hungry and starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and yourself melt away.”
